DOLCENOTTE

Description

We recommend this apartment for a couple who wants a romantic stay in the historic center of the village.

Delightful double bedroom with bathroom / shower and balcony with table and chairs, on the first floor (no lift). The building (not the room) directly overlooks Piazza Motta, the main one in Orta, is therefore central but very quiet.

The first supply of sheets and towels for all guests is included and free.

Unfortunately, we can not accommodate pets in this apartment. We are very sorry!

We offer our guests:

  • free baby cot on request
  • parking on request

Please note that it is not allowed to enter by car in the historic center of Orta. The cars will be left to the parking a few hundred meters from the apartment.

A few steps away you will find restaurants, wine bars, breakfast bars and aperitifs, as well as a minimarket, pharmacy, ATM and post office.

Any Extra on request:

  • Parking: 8 € per day
  • Domestic help: € 15 per hour
  • Transfer from the airport to the apartment: 90 € each way from Malpensa, other airports on request
  • Car rental service with driver
  • Guided tours in English with weekly departures (in summer) directly from your apartment. Ask us about the destinations and prices.

We have an office 30 meters away from the house, which you can contact for any need during your stay.

Being right on the historic plaza was very nice, but that was also the downside. Difficult to get to & with the age of the building meant some very loud clanging of pipes off & on just outside the room throughout the night. The hosts were lovely. The town is charming.

Orta is perfect for making postcards

4.7

Quiet even if it was next to the main square, aircondition worked well, but the apartment was in the interior parts of an old stone building so it wouldn’t get very hot anyways. Nice clean room with a good fridge and enough glasses and plates for a four day stay. A terrazza facing the interior walls worked as an extra room and a place you could have coffee, fruit and a light meal.

Orta San Giulio is picture perfect, but in August is far to many tourists there. It has the same problems as Venezia, maybe even worse because it is so small. For instance there are no real shops, type ordinary alimentaria, There are overpriced so called «food markets» where you never see a local do any shopping. The locals all work in the tourist trade and understandably, they look tired and are not very service minded. Orta is on the Tourist bus circuit and it is two sides the that golden ticket. Having said all this, it must be fantastic to see Orta San Giulio wake up on a crisp clear day in April, the morning fog giving way to a beautiful spring day…

The room is lovely

4.8

The room is lovely. It gives you the feeling that you are not a tourist, but a local because the room is right in the middle of the town. It takes you 5sec to the lake and you are right at the market square. The small balkony is sweet for having a glass of whine or a siesta. The owners are very nice and we did not have any problems to find the place or communicate with them.

A mosquito net would have been helpful, since there are a lot of mosquitos at night. For some reasons the tv channels were not working correctly, but maybe we did something wrong. But the village and the lake is so nice that you don’t need a TV.

Meraviglioso ed incantevole luogo

4.3
