In Miasino, on the hills surrounding Lake Orta, an experiment began last year. What happens if the work of art leaves the artist's studio or the white wall of the gallery to arrive in the long abandoned rooms of a seventeenth-century villa?
This is what happens at the turn of the months of June and July at Villa Nigra, one of the most beautiful historic houses in all of Northern Italy. Some important German and Italian artists have their works dialogue with environments full of history, thus giving life to the lake show. Contemporary art works are contaminated by the surrounding environment in a reciprocal game of exchanges and references. In this liquid conception of spaces, the theme of the exhibition could only be that of water.
The di-lago exhibition is free and opens on Friday 28 June. It can be visited until Sunday 21 July from Thursday to Sunday, from 2 to 6 pm. The exhibition is curated by Asilo Bianco in collaboration with the German association The spirit of the lake.
The artists on show are: Gerardo Di Fonzo, Harald Fuchs, Francesco Garbelli / Ferdinando Greco, Birgit Jensen, Birgit Kahle, Damaris Lipke, Maik + Dirk Löbbert, Marta Nijhuis, Peter Simon + Freya Hattenberger, Urs Twellmann, Frauke Wilken.
