Alessi S.p.A. is an Italian company producing design objects, founded by Giovanni Alessi in 1921.
His shop is an unmissable place for all design lovers and for those who want to take home a truly original souvenir from Lake Orta. The prices you find at the shop, then, will make you fill the trunk of your car!
The company has its roots in the tradition of working with wood and metal characteristic of Valle Strona and the area overlooking Lake Orta, where is located Omegna.
The first objects designed date back to the mid-thirties, when Carlo Alessi, son of the founder, began his activity within his father’s company, and then took over the management in the fifties.
Among the designers who have worked with Alessi over the years, we remember: Alessandro Mendini, Aldo Rossi, Ettore Sottsass, Richard Sapper, Achille Castiglioni, Stefano Giovannoni and Philippe Starck.
In the shop you will find truly unique objects, we could say works of art, in fact the “9090” is the first espresso coffee maker in the history of Alessi, but also the first of numerous Compasso d’Oro awards and the first Alessi object exhibited at MOMA in New York.
The address to be entered in the GPS to reach the store is via Privata Alessi n. 6 to Omegna.
There is ample free parking at the service of the shop.
You do not have a car and you need a taxi to get there? We recommend Taxi Lago d’Orta, you can contact him at +39 346.2111587 (ask for the rate at the time of booking, it may vary depending on the number of people).
An advice? Go there! Go there! Go there!
I simply adore this place and go regularly to see the new offers. If you love design objects, but useful at home, you will not be disappointed!
